FourTrack

Here's a screen shot of what FourTrack looks like on a HPC:

If you run it on a PPC or a PocketPC, it will automatically adjust to the different screen resolution:

At program start FourTrack will automatically scan all your directories for available sound files sets. This is useful in case you have several different sets of soundfiles, e.g. guitar, piano, etc. Then you can select for each of the four tracks

  • If this track shall be mixed to the output file
  • Which Strummer track it shall record
  • Which soundfiles to use for this track
  • The volume of this track
To create the wave file, select first a filename (click on "Output File"), then click on "Create Wave". The soundfile will be created, which may take a while. Because this is very processor intensive, it may drain your batteries a lot. A power supply adapter is advisable.

The "File" menu gives you the possibility to save and restore your settings, and to scan for soundfiles (in case you added new ones since you started with the project.

Make sure the speed settings (BPM) for all the tracks match; otherwise there is no guarantee that the tracks are synchronized.

If you want to know how the results sound, here are some sound examples that were converted with FourTrack.
