LCS-1M - A Low-Cost Hobby Oscilloscope
Buy Your Scope
The LCS-1M is an open source design, so everyone can build his or her own low-cost scope. However, I
understand that lack of experience, as well as difficulty or additional expense in procuring all the
components in small quantities can be a hurdle. The printed circuit board is probably the component that
creates the most pain either financially (a one-off order is very expensive) or in terms of effort (it takes
many more hours to build up the circuit on e.g. a protoboard because all the wiring must be done
manually, and there is a high probability of mistakes). But shipping costs for components from several
different distributors can add up quickly as well.

All items below have
flat shipping to anywhere in the world. Clicking on the PayPal button on the right of
each item will get you to the order page. Since one of the goals of the design is minimal cost, shipping will
be through regular USPS letter mail (for the PCB) or parcel post, so international orders can take a week
or two to arrive (more during busy times like Christmas). Within the US delivery is typically less than a
week.

Please note that I have a new design, the DPScope, which is superior to the LCS-1M in every respect.
Unless you really want to build a Picaxe based instrument I highly recommend going for the new
design (the corresponding
webpage is here).

Of course I will still fully support the LCS-1M in the future, but I do not plan to order another batch of
printed circuit boards, so when my current stock runs out, that will be it.

In the meantime, I am giving away the remaining boards for free (well, you need to pay shipping.
Actually, since Paypal does not like zero cost, it will show up as 1 cent for the board and $9.99 for
shipping, which works out to the same).
